You are bidding on a repairable salvage, 2003 Mercedes Benz S55 AMG. This vehicle was purchased as a Storm/Flood vehicle from an insurance company. The vehicle arrived to us in non running condition. We as a result sent the vehicle directly to our mechanic shop to investigate as to why. The vehicle was there for about 3hrs and came right back to us running and driving. The problem was a traced to a seized starter. The vehicle has no odors of sitting water, nor are there any water stains, or signs of water being in the interior. Everything is functioning in and on the vehicle. All seats, stereo, Navigation, lights ect. All are in working order. This vehicle has pretty much every option Me/Be offered on this model back in 2003. The vehicle has some minor front end damage to the front bumper cover as seen in the photos. This was most likely caused at one of the insurance company yards from a very negligent person with little to no regards to anything not belonging to them. The interior shows some signs of wear on the driver’s seat and center arm rest and could use a good detail. The vehicle is clean with the exception of the damage to the front cover and a ding or two on the driver’s side doors. AMG. Those three letters are as revered by auto enthusiasts as ERA or RBI are by baseball fanatics. But what do they stand for and what are they doing affixed to various Mercedes-Benz vehicles? The first two letters stand for the names of the founders: Hans-Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher, and the last letter signifies where the company was born: Grossaspach, Germany, back in 1967. What Mr. A and Mr. M did was modify Mercedes-Benz automobiles for better performance, be it for road use or racing, in which they were heavily involved. As the years went on, AMG became known as a premier tuner of Mercedes-Benz automobiles, and eventually offered interior and exterior modifications, such as custom instruments, steering wheels and seats as well as ground effects, spoilers and wheels. The company did such a great job that Mercedes-Benz brought it in-house in 1990, and as a result AMG now has its own high-performance skunk works, similar to rival BMW's "M" division.
